A boy of 12 walked into a London hospital with a tooth growing from a piece of his own rib grafted into his jaw. He first attended the hospital complaining of a pain in the jaw. Diagnosis: Part of the bone was diseased. The diseased part was removed and a piece of rib grafted into its place. Six months later the boy returned to hospital—with the tooth, perfectly formed, growing entirely from the rib £~aft. Doctors cannot explain it.
