A LIBEL ACTION

ARCHITECTS' SUIT SETTLED LONDON, May 14. A libel action by the Incorporated Association of Architects and Surveyors against the Royal Institute of British Architects was settled in the, Bang's Bench Division. The plaintiffs included Sir Edwin Lutyens, Sir Robert Tasker and Major G. B. J. Afhoe, secretary of the association.. Sir Patrick Hastings, K.C., said the action arose out of a letter written in 1933. "Mr Norman Birkett," he continued, " appears for the defendants, and he and I have advised our clients that,- in the interests of the architects' profession, it was obviously desirable to settle this litigation. " Thatr advise has been followed and mutual explanations have been made and accepted. "The litigation is now at an end, and we ask that the action be withdrawn on terms that no costs are to be paid by either side to the other." Mr Norman Birkett, K.C., concurred in the statement. Mr Justice Finlay said he was sure the parties had been well advised.
