The work ahead of the newly : constitutcd Dairy Board was the chief topic discussed at to-day's session of the National Dairy Association. MJ?<> tff the board, addressing the conference stated that the new work before the board included the question of the control of local markets. Evidence was now beniß taken and it was desired to evolve a scheme that would return to the producer all he was entitled to receive. Regarding the export market, Mr Davis was returnine from London soon and it might n* necessary to discuss with him certain allocations of our produce. More tha J that Mr Murdoch was unable to say at the moment, but he added that he was in duty bound to mention the matter. Referring to the relationship with Australia, Mr Murdoch said the new board was in touch with the Commonwealth in a move to fix minimum prices and deal with second grade produce. . On the matter of suppliers leaving one factory for another, Mr Murdoch said that the Executive Commission had been approached, but its answer was that at the moment it was not prepared to recommend the Government to make any regulations. The matter, however, had not been lost sight of. It might be that zoning or amalgamation would be a solution of me difficulty, and he was prepared to sit as an arbitrator where two companies desired amalgamation. There was no doubt that the board would have to tackle the zoning problem, hut there were instances where factories had agreed on their respective territories.
