The following further results are available from the Wimbledon tournament: — WOMEN'S SINGLES. First Round. MiSs Sperling defeated Miss Beazley (England) o—6, o—2. Mrs Wills-Moody defeated Mile Baumgarten 6—o, 6—l. Miss Jacobs defeated Mrs Adamson 6—3, 6—2. Second Round. Miss Round defeated Miss M'Ostrich B—6, 6—3. MEN'S DOUBLES. First Round. Yamagishi and Nishimura defeated Culley and Hines 6—4, 6—l, 6—3. Ma'lfroy and Steclman (N.Z.) defeated Henkel and Lund 6—l, 6—4, 3—6, 6—3. A few minutes before play was due to start a thunderstorm broke over Wimbledon, causing dismay on account of it being Ladies' Day, soaking many women in the unsheltered seats. Only a couple of hours' play was possible on the covered courts, when rain again stopped play. Malfroy and Steclman found Henkel and Lund at sea on the slippery surface, but the Germans improved to win the third set.
