The monthly bulletin from the New Zealand Association advised that the referees' examination (theory) would be held throughout New Zealand on August 14. The Dominion tournament would this year be held in Gisborne, under the control of the Poverty Bay Association, commencing about August 28, and entries would close on July 31.—The secretary advised that she had made inquiries of the cost of sending a team, the fare being approximately £8 per head. About £l2O would be required for travelling expenses alone. Consideration of sending a team was deferred until a later meeting. Letters of thanks were received from the Macandrew Road and St. Clair Schools for sticks given to the teams. The secretary of the Umpires' Association wrote confirming the appointment of Miss M. Adams as the appointee of referees for the season, and inviting senior players to join the association. The question of uniforms was discussed at length. It was pointed out that there was a similarity in registered uniforms, and this was made more difficult by the fact that some players did not wear their correct dress. —It was decided that any player not in clnb uniform should not be permitted to take part in a match. Captains of teams to be responsible to see that their teams were correctly turned out. The secretary advised that Mr Brettell, of the Embassy Salon, had offered to act as M.C. for the dance to be tendered Miss Mackie on July 2, and several of the referees had offered to assist at the door and other duties to save expenditure.
