CELEBRITY CONCERT
Four artists from other centres will appear in the programme to be presented by the New Zealand Broadcasting Board in the Town Hall next Saturday night. Mr Lionollo Cecil, Australian operatic tenor, who has already been heard over the air from 4YA, and Mr Walter Kingsley, the English baritone who is under contract to the Broadcasting Board, will bo heard in vocal numbers. Mr Cecil and Mr Kingsley will also take part in the duets “In This Solemn Hour” (Verdi) and “Quivering Lyre” (Verdi). Mr John Robertson, the champion cornetist, will mage an appearance, accompanied by the St. Kilda Band, and lie should prove popular with the audience. Miss Mary Pratt will be heard in “ Harbour Night Song” (Sanderson) and “Love’s Old Sweet Song” (Molloy). Paul Vinogradoff, the eminent Russian pianist, who was associated with Senia Chostiakoff in the celebrity concert last season, will also assist with piano solos. The 4YA Concert Orchestra will play the accompaniments for the singers. There is every indication that the hall will bo packed to the utmost, as it was on the last occasion when the board gave a public concert in aid of the Mayor’s Relief Fund. Popular prices will he charged, and box plan arrangements arc advertised.
