The fortnightly meeting of Royal Oak Lodge was held in the lodge room on Monday night ,dast, A.D. Bro. J. M. Robertson presiding over a small attendance of members. D.P. Bro. Jelley made his first official visit and received a warm welcome. The routine business,of the lodge was quickly disposed of. Sick pay showed a gratifying decrease, sick: ness among members being below the usual. A further candidate was initiated into the mysteries of Dfuidism. It was decided to'hold a function in honour of Grand President Bro. Hunt on June 10, and a committee was set up to make the necessary arrangements. At the conclusion of the business ( a vice-arch competition was held, there being five entries. Grand President Bro. Hunt was the winner in a close contest. D.P. Bro. Jelley officiated as judge, and gave a most instructive criticism to the competitors. A hearty vote of thanks to the judge concluded the meeting. Arch Druid Bro. O. Wahrlich presided over the regular meeting of the Lily of the Valley Lodge, No. 11, U.A.O.D. The anmial report of the Dunedin FriendlySocieties Dispensary was received. A letter was received from the Board of Management stating that the grand lodge officers and board members would visit the lodge on -July 10. The bards reported favourably on sick brethren, and sick pay amounting to £5 10s was passed for payment. Routine business was quickly disposed of to allow wives and friends to be admitted for the purpose of playing progressive euchre. After a very enjoyable game the following were the successful prize winners:—Ladies, Mrs Campbell 1, Miss D. O'Driscoll 2. Bro. D. Thompson won the men's prize. A.D. Bro. Manning occupied the chair at the last meeting of Linden Lodge No. 5. He was greeted with a good attendance of officers and Correspondence was light, and the lodge was handed over to R.A.D. Bro. G. Wilson and his chapter officers to conduct the business of the evening. The lodge was in mourning, one of the oldest members having passed away. During the evening two new members were rnitiated by the team entered for the Ross-Stewart Shield. The delegates' report on the last chapter meeting was received and discussed, and on behalf of the Booklet .Committee Bro. Morrison presented the balance sheet for the past year, which was approved. One proposition for membership was received. The usual toasts were hondurcd, special Jiention being made of the splendid manner in which the R.A.C. officers had controlled the meeting. R.A.D. Bro. Wilson addressed the members and took the opportunity of presenting the Beasley Banner to Bro. Manning, Linden Lodge being the winner of the animal competition. Bro. Reeves, the chapter secretary, appealed for financial support from nil members. The lodge tendered supper to the visitors, and on their behalf P.D.P. Bro. Rundle, of Ivanhoe Lodge, replied to the toast of the visitors.

The regular meeting of Enterprise Lodge was presided over by Arch Druid Bro. W. Smaill last Wednesday when a good muster of members were in attendance. The bards' report disclosed that a large amount of sickness w.ao prevalent amongst the members, and sick pay amounting to £l3 was passed for payment. Amongst the correspondence was an intimation from the grand secretary that the grand president proposed visiting the lodge on June 26. Several matters pertaining to the good and welfare of the lodge were discussed, after which the team selected to represent the lodge at the forthcoming Ross-Stewart Shield competition held a practice. The fortnightly meeting of Good Intent Lodge No. 8, U.A.0.D., was held on Wednesday evening, Arch Druid Bro E. Larsen occupying the chair. The fttendance was small owing to a great deal of sickness prevailing amongst the members, and sick pay to the amount of £26 18s 4d was passed for payment. Three old and esteemed members had passed away recently, namely, P.A. Bro. J. C. Murdoch, Bro. L. Bacon, and P.A. bro. •W. Johnstone, and the action of the ~ecretnry in sending letters of sympathy to thejr relatives was endorsed. Included in the correspondence was an invitation to Ivanhoe Lodge for Wednesday, and it was decided to meet at 6.30 p.m. and conclude business promptly so that the lodge could attend the Ivanhoe meeting officially. The balance sheet of the Booklet Committee was :ilso received and found to be satisfactory. Good_ Intent Lodge was favoured with a surprise visit from the officers and members of Ivaniioc Lodge, who brought with them several well-known brethren of Mistletoe Lodge and also a member of Rose of Palmerston Lodge. Tlicy also brought out with them two candidates to be initiated in Good Intent Lodge room as members of Ivanhoe Lodge. Secretary Bro. Brockie rendered the A.D. charge rn behalf of the A.D., the initiation cere mony being carried out in an efficient manner. The Ivanhoe A.D. then took the chair and carried out the rest of the business for Good Intent. The Druidic toasts were proposed and responded to by the visitors. Several items were given by the visitors, while others were entertained with cards.
