FIRE IN FACTORY
GIRL SEVERELY BURNED Severe burns about the thighs and hands were suffered by Laura Carr, a single woman, 18 years of age, when a small fire broke out at the Wunda Proprietary Company's factory at 43 Filluel street, shortly after 9.30 yesterday morning. The outbreak was caused by the overheating of a quantity of floor polish while in the process of manufacture, and the injured girl was working nearby. The- City Fire Brigade was called to the scene and found the girl lying in the yard behind the building. First aid was "rendered by brigadesmen, and the girl, who resides at Fairfield, was then sen: to the Hospital, being admitted at 10.15 a.m. Her condition is not considered serious. Only slight damage was done to the building by the fire.
