INQUIRY INTO SMASH
MISHAP TO THE MOTORIST. SYDNEY. April 10. (Received April 10, at 10.25 p.m.) The racing smash at the Ascot course on March 27, when three horses were
killed and several jockeys were injured, was inquired into by the A.J.C. stewards to-day. • . The jockey D. Lightfoot gave evidence that bis mount, The Motorist, was the first to fall owing to its foreleg failing. This was not due to any interference or defect in the track. The stewards found accordingly.
