ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
BULLET WOUND IN FOOT James Waugh, 16 years of age, residing with his parents at Halfway Bush, was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 7.50 p.m. yesterday suffering from a bullet wound in the left foot. He was cleaning a rifle, which he did not know was loaded, when the weapon exploded.-* LACERATED FINGERS When he caught his left hand in a circular saw at his factory in Law street, a married man named George Jackson had his fingers badly lacerated, and was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 6.10 p.m. yesterday. The injured man, who is 58 years of age, resides at 06 Law street. KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 12. John Mulgrew, of Petone, aged about 35, was wheeling a bicycle across the Hutt road near Petone when he was struck by a car driven by Donald M'Lcod. He was knocked unconscious and. was admitted to the hospital with a severe scalp wound and other injuries. SHIPS FIREMAN DROWNED (Per United Press Association) NELSON, March 12. James Kehoe, aged 44, a fireman on the C. and D. liner Port Auckland, was drowned in the harbour last evening. Kehoe, whose home port is at Liverpool, dived from the bow for a swim and disappeared. The body has not yet been recovered.
