SCOUT AND GUIDE RALLY
From all over Otago and Southland hundreds of Guides and Scouts will gather at the Caledonian Ground on Saturday afternoon when a combined rally will lie held to honour the Chiefs, Lord and Lady Baden-Powell. After seeing the march past of Scouts and Guides at Frankston during the Australian jamboree, an onlooker was heard to remark: "I have never been so impressed by anything for years. It gave one a sense of security for the future." It was the sight of the thousands of young people, happy, disciplined, and full of life that prompted those remarks, and although on Saturday the numbers will not be so great, there will be the same impression of young life in training for future service.
