FIRST NEW ZEALAND " TALKIE " FIRST SHOWIXG OX MAY*2. Xew Zealand's, first talking picture, " Down on the Farm." is now completed, and before long it will be released for general exhibition. At an early date it is to be presented at a special screening before the Governor-General. This 'will not be its first screening, however, as it has already been reviewed by a prominent Wellington theatrical manager, who was greatly impressed by the production, and predicted that it would meet with the warm approval of the public. The Xew Zealand. Australian, and English rights have been disposed of to the British Empire Films (Australasian) Corporation, the principals of which are British International Pictures, which have lately released such memorable features as "Blossom Time" and "The Middle Watch." . It is the intention of the management to release the film for its first public screening at the Empire Theatre at a special midnight matinee on May 2, and on this occasion the principal actors will make personal appearances.
