ITALIAN IMPORTS
DECREE FOR RESTRICTION EFFECT IN BRITAIN ROME, February 24. ' (Received Feb. 25, at 1.30 a.m.) "The British people must drink Italian wines if they wish us to burn their coal," declared Government officials in reference to the new decree restrict- ' ing imports. The new system amounts of nationalisation of foreign trade by a system of licenses, and h&a resulted" in innumerable complaints from British firms. The changes respecting British businesses include reductions based on the ,total imports of 1934 of 75 per cent, of linen yarns, textiles, hemp, jute, 'raw cotton, cotton thread, woollen clothing, and blankets. . : .
