CRICKET CARNIVAL
The cricket carnival which was held ia the South Dunedin Town Hall from' Wednesday night.was concluded on Saturday evening, when there was a large attendance of the public. The carnival was in aid of the Christian Brothers Old Boys' and Dunedin Cricket Clubs, and, judging by the support which it received, the venture should be a distinct financial success. The various stalls were well patronised during the evening, and the amusement devices received considerable attention from "those who wished to have a last attempt at winning some of the valuable prizes offered. A dispersal sale at the conclusion of the carnival went with a swing, very little being left unsold. The St. Joseph's Orphanage Boys' Band and a specially-selected orchestra played musical numbers during the evening and added considerably to rhe enjoyment of the final session.
