JAPANESE PRINCES

CRUISE WITH SQUADRON AN ELABORATE SEND-OFF TOKIO, February 20. An elaborate send off marked the sailing of three princes aboard the navy’s training vessels Asama and Hakunio for Australia, via the South Seas. Prince Kuni, younger brother of the Empress, and Prince Hideo Fushirni, the son of the navy’s highest commander, are aboard the Asama. Prince Asaka is sailing with the Hakumo. Seven of the Imperial family’s relatives joined with the navy’s commandants at the Yokosuka base in bidding farewell to the princes, while 22 radio stations broadcast the departure, which marks an unprecedented event, in that three princes of blood will be aboard simultaneously in sailing ships for marine experience.
