When Mr Hiff Ira Strahan, of Spokane, Washington, applied for his birth certificate he was told lie was a girl. There was no mistake—the 30-year-old records clearly described him as such. A few hours later he returned with a doctor. It was the doctor who had been present at his birth, and after he had sworn before a notary that Strahan was a male tiic records were altered. Strahan left the office a new man.
