MELBA SCHOLARSHIP
WON BY NEW ZEALANDER SYDNEY, February 15. (Received Feb. 16, at 1 a.m.) Miss Hinemoa Rosier, a 20-year-old New Zealand girl, won the Melba Bequest Scholarship from an entry of 50. Twelve finalists faced the judges. Miss Rosier came from Auckland last February and has been studying l , at the conservatorium under a special "scholarship. Mr Fritz Hart, director of the conservatorium, described her voice as a dramatic soprano and the ‘ best at the conservatorium since Miss Florence Austral sang there.
