; /HOLED IN ONE." ST. CLAIR GOLFER'S FEAT. the. feat of ."holing in one" w*s performed by Mr 10. L. Garden, a member of the St. Claif Golf Cliib; during play yesterday afternoon. Mr Garden, who W a well known member' of the club, Was completing a quiet round of golf when he reached the 17th hole. This hole is 93 Vsrde in length, and Mr Garden, ; 'with a mashie-niblick shot, pitched the ball, perfectly; It ,ran a, very 'short distance! before' it .found the. hole, enabling Mr Garden, whose handicap is 12, to join the' select company of .those who have " "holed in one." Although the feat .Was performed fairly late in the afternoon ~ Mr Garden received the congratula- , tions of a number of golfers who were .still on the course.
