CENTRAL OTAGO ELECTORATE

TO THE EDITOR Sir,—ln the Daily Times of February 1 I notice that Mr R. S. Black has been asked to be a candidate for the city mayoralty. With all due respect for the Dunedih citizens, I think Mr Black should be asked to. stand for a much higher position —that of member of Parliament for Central Otago, in the interests of the Labour Party. Mr Black is very widely known in Central Otago, and he could not be called a " carpet bagger," as he has large interests there. He ia known to rich and poor alike. We all know he is a good business man, and has travelled in many countries. I doubt if we have a member in the House who has travelled more. I doubt if there would be a better business member in the House than he if. he were elected. —I am, etc., Unknown.
