Moses Kagan, a Jewish traveller in Poland, attempted to beat the.depression by marrying nine wives in 10 yeara and using their dowries in his business, according to a report from Warsaw. • But his unusual prosperity attracted attention, and the nine wives have taken united legal action for the return .of their dowries. All complain that they had to work as assistant travellers without salary. Austria, Czechoslovakia, Norway, Spain and Sweden. are all now within a day's journey by air of London.
