BEACH IMPROVEMENTS
In order to fill a growing demand for public lawn tennis courts, the St. Kilda Beach Improvement Society has just completed four courts on the domain at St. Kilda. The courts, which are of asphalt, were laid by Mr J. Moore, and will be marked this week. The official opening has been arranged for next Saturday afternoon, and in order to open the courts free of debt the society will hold a carnival, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Among the many attractions will be a children's fancy dress competition and a bathing beauty contest, both to be held on Saturday afternoon.
