PLEASURE CRUISE

THE LINER STRATHAIRD DEPARTURE FOR DOMINION SYDNEY, November 16. (Received Nov. 16, at 10 p.m.) The Strathaird, one of the largest and fastest liners in the passenger trade, has left Sydney for Brisbane, whence she will depart at the beginning of next week on a pleasure cruise for New Zealand. Passengers numbering 850 were picked up at Australian ports, and they will disembark at Auckland on November 23, rejoining the vessel three days later at Wellington. A large proportion have already arranged tours in New Zealand, and officers of the New Zealand publicity department who are on board will arrange further trips en route. Three other similar cruises will take place this summer. Mr L. J. Schmitt paid a courtesy call on the captain of the Strathaird this afternoon on behalf of the New Zealand Government and expressed best wishes for a good trip.
