CRICKET

TO-DAY’S MATCHES The second of the present series of matches in the Otago Cricket Association’s competition should provide some interesting finishes to-day. In the match between Grange and the Colts, the Colts are one run ahead with four wickets in hand,.and if their last wickets can make a. reasonable stand, Grange will have-to score fast. The match between Albion and Old Boys on Logan Park No. 1 is in an interesting position. Albion’s first innings realised 149, while Old Boys have lost four for 87 and still require 63 rune to equal Albion’s score. If Silver is in his best form, these runs may be difficult to secure. On the Logan Park No. 3 ground Kaikorai has the rather formidable task of scoring 360 runs, and will have to show much better form with the bat than in previous games. The match between Dunedin and Christian Brothers on Logan Park No. 4 is also at an interesting stage. Christian Brothers have scored 129, while Dunedin has 125 for seven wickets and should be able to secure a lead on the first innings. At Carisbrook, Carisbrook A is set a fairly hard task, having 253 runs to make, while two wickets are down for 69. The remaining batsmen will have to show their very best form to secure the necessary runs.
