BROADCASTING OF RACES

TO THE EDITOR Sir,— The much-talked of Trotting Cup is now over as far as the races are concerned, but, it is not yet too late to seek information on the matter. I would like to know who conveys the racing news to the broadcasting station, and whether the station puts over any news it may hear, even if it is perhaps not as near the truth as it might be. It is time that announcers were banned from putting over news which to the public appears to be not so accurate as one would like. The public does not expect an owner to tell openly if-he intends to try and win a race or otherwise; but it does expect to get accurate racing news over the air in regard to the condition of horses that are going to am, etc., Dunedin, November 12. Fair Play.

fThe above letter has been curtailed. -Ed. O.D.T.]
