COAL AND TIMBER YARDS
WAGES OF EMPLOYEES INCREASED. (Peb United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, November 16. An increase of a halfpenny an hour in the wages of teilers-out in timber yards and of yard labourers in both timber and coal yards has been awarded by the Arbitration Court. The rates of other workers under the North Canterbury timber yards, sawmills and coal yards’employees’ award had already been increased by the same amount by agreement, but the other question had been referred to the court.
