POLICE COURT At a sitting of the Port Chalmers Police Court yesterday morning, before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., James Pritchard and John Alexander Henderson were charged with committing wilful damage, estimated at 12s 6d, to the property of the Otago Education Board at Sawyers’ Bay on October 3. The accused, both youths 18 years of age, pleaded guilty. Police evidence was given to the effect that the youths were playing hockey in the school grounds and removed concrete blocks and damaged fittings in a convenience. They had not been in trouble before. In convicting the youths and making an order for them to make good the damage (6s 3d each), the magistrate said their act was inexcusable, and that they weie old enough to know better.
