THE BAPTIST UNION AND WAR
TO THE EDITOR Sir, —It is rather astounding to read the resolutions passed at the recent Baptist Synod in Wellington. One wonders what these ministers are teaching their young people about Bible prophecy. They surely must know that Britain will soon be called * upon .to defend her Palestine mandate. Would they be doing their duty to the God of Israel if they forbade their young men to be some of the young lions who will go from New Zealand to aid in the defence of Palestine? After the Great Deluge, man made the Tower of Babel. Is it a coincidence that our ministers are pinning their faith upon the man-made League of Nations, which does not recognise the God of our fathers, instead of training their young men to put their faith in prayer, as Mr Bowwater suggested?—l am, etc., Dan-tte.
