BRITISH RAILWAYS
RETURNS FOR HALF YEAR LONDON, October 10. (Received Oct. 11, at 7, p.m.) Passenger journeys taken on the railways in Britain during the first half of 1934 showed an increase of 5.2 per cent, compared with the first six months of 1933. The freight tonnage carried during the first 28 weeks of 1934 was 10.4 per cent, greater than for the corresponding period of 1933.
