(United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, October 11. Heavy rain interfered with track work this morning, and the going was soft. At Caulfield, Rogilla covered five furlongs on the grass in Imin ssec. Lady Primrose ran three furlongs in 40sec. Wise Boy did the same distance in 39sec. Epigram beat Turbine over five furlongs in Imin sscc. Sir John, Waikare, and Kuvera ran five furlongs in Imin 6sec. Rolovant, Limarch, Closing Time, Radiant Star, and Nightly did steady work. The last-named moved freely.

SHATTER SLIGHTLY INJURED

M'Carten is likely to ride Sir John in the Guineas and Young Idea in the Debutante Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday. The New Zealander, F. J. M'Kay, will ride Sir Simper in the Toorak HandicapThe latter’s usual pilot, C. Wilson, will ride Great Don. Shatter slightly bruised his hind fetlock as a result of a knock in the train journey from Sydney. The trouble is not regarded as serious. The acceptors for the Caulfield Stakes are as follows: —Waikare, Rogilla, Chatham, Nel Soldat, Hall Mark, Waltzing Lily. The acceptors for the Power Handicap include Upoko, Ariki, and Oriel.
