EXPORT OF EGGS
SHORTAGE OF SHIPPING SPACE (Pee United Press Association) AUCKLAND,. September 18. The second shipment of the egg export season will be made next week, when the Rangitata will take 900 crates, each containing 30 dozen eggs, from Auckland. Some difficulty has been experienced in securing shipping space. Space for only 800 crates from Auckland, is available on the Port Hunter, which is to sail about October 26, but space is required forabout 1300 crates. This will be one of the largest shipments because it has been found by experience that it is necessary to reach the .English market before Christmas. In the South Island the position is even more acute.
“Eggs, have been sold .this year at a price very satisfactory to producers,” said Mr A. C. Norden, chairman of the Auckland Egg Export Committee.
