DUNEDIN PIGEON CLUB
RACE FROM ASIIBURTON. Fine weather with a light southerly wind blowing prevailed for the Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club's race from Ashbnrton on Saturday. Twenty-one loft s en-, tered 144 birds for this race, and these were released (it 10.30 a.m. to fly home, a distance of 153 miles airline to the central lofts. The winning bird, a red chequered hen, bred in 1033. timed in at 2hr 41min 37sec, the actual flying time being 4hr llmin 33sec. It was a very close race, resulting in only decimal points separating first and second and fourth and fifth places-. The result was as follows: — C. Kuxton's Hyde Hope. 1003.9 .... 1 J. Scoullar's Daphne, 1063.4 .. .. 2 T. Douglas's Preston. 1062.2 3 D. Cunningham's Juliet. 1061.5 .... 4 M. Anderson's Hillman, 1061.3 .... 5 The club will fly a race from Ashbur ton again on Saturday.
