.o ELDERLY MAN'S DEATH KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR CYCLE. (Peb United Pbess Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 15. Alfred Reginald Newberry, aged 7G, single, an old age pensioner of Sydenham, who was knocked down by a motor cycle in Carlyle street last night, died in hospital early this morning from severe head injuries. He did not regain consciousness. The motor, cyclist, Victor Sayers, is still in hospital, but is improving. He also received head injuries. ELDERLY MAN INJURED (Peb United Puess 4(?sociation.) GREYMOUTH, September IG. Hugh Smith, aged CO, of Nelson Creek, was injured in the back this afternoon at Cobden when the car which hi s son was driving was struck Jby another as it was turning. BOY SLIGHTLY BURNED A boy named Leslie Rawlinfjs, aged 12 years, residing at 307 Main road, Riivensboiirne, was admitted to the Dimedin Hospital at 5 p.m. on Saturday suffering from burns to his face and hands. The accident occurred when he slipped and fell into a heap of burning grass. His condition is not serious.
