BADMINTON

INVITATION TOURNAMENT A HIGH STANDARD OF PLAY The invitation Badminton tournament conducted by the various clubs in Dunedin for the purpose of proviling a benefit fund for Mr T. Brooks, the Badminton coach, who is at present incapacitated through illness, was concluded on Saturday evening in Brydone Hall. The various events produced particularly interesting contests, a feature of the tournament being the excellent handicapping in the handicap events, which reflected great credit on Mr C. H. Chapman, who was responsible for this part of the executive's work. The expenses of the tournament were nil, and the sum of approximately £2O was collected. The committee in charge of the tournament wishes to acknowledge with thanks donations from players who were unable to participate, the receipt of trophies from the Otago Sports Depot, and three dozen shuttles- from Messrs Gollin and Co., these shuttles being distributed as prizes.
