Acceptances for the trotting events at the Geraldirie meeting-will close to-day. Entries for the New Zealand.-Cup .will close on September 27. ..« entries for the meeting will be taken up till October 18. , -,/ : , ' : ' i The presence of the three-year-olds Moana Tama and Donalda will add.to the interest in the trotting events aV the Oamaru Jockey Club's meeting to be held at the end of this month, Gaynor is now at "Addington. She.is a neat mare with a nicejstyle of trotting, and when trained by. W. T. Lowe she displayed a deal of promise, which to date, however, she has failed to improve upon. ■ - <, , ' Young Frank: may have shis!; first race fori/ A. Maidens in the Methven Cup. He showed some useful form when trained at Addington, but did not always reproduce it on'race days,, and »t will.be interesting to 'see. if- a. change otr.OMeß has worked any .change in his habits. .- Gamble has-been nominated for the Methven meeting. Racing will do a great deal ior this fellow, and it should n6t be long before he shows whether coin" to be really good, as some of his ' public efforts have suggested, or only indifferent on account #f his inability to gather early speed from a standing start. Desert Maiden appeared likely to reach useful company at one stage of last season's racing, but she has not been pleasing of late. It is nothing unusual to find her breaking in her days, and that does not make her future look any brighter. always looks well, and perhaps T. G. Fox will find a remedy for her lapse. However, she is certainly running, wild .at the. moment. "When seen out at Addington on Thursday, Indianapolis looked in great order, and he appears, to have derived benefit from his three hard races last month. He comes from a line of stock renowned for their ability .to thrive on racing and solid work, and it'.would seem that his trainer does not intend Indianapolis to be idle between now and Cup time. Great Parrish is being kept going at Mangere by J. T. Paul, and this pacer wi'l most likely race at the Auckland meeting in October. Having his iirst race for a long time when he competed in the Massey Memorial at the recent Auckland meeting, Great Parrish tailed to reveal his true form owing to the heavy state of the track, but the first time lie strikes a firm track he is likely to make amends for the failure, as he is very ■• speedy at his best.
