GIRL’S REMARKABLE PLAY IN FINAL OF CHAMPIONSHIP LONDON, September 'l3. (Received Sept. 14, at 9.30 p.m.) A> little 13-year-old Scot, Nancy Jupp, astonished the golfing world by reaching the final of the Girls’ Championship at Stoke Poges in her first attempt, beating competitors four to five years older, wliopi she consistently outdrove. One drive was of 280 yards. She is a beautiful player, with a model swing, and hits with deadly accuracy. She began playing when she was six. How she achieved such perfection is a mystery, as she lias had only a few lessons and had not even got a handicap. She will play the final against the 18-year-old Joan Mountford, an experienced player from the North Foreland Club, the nursery of famous players, including Diana Fishwick.
