INVITATION TOURNAMENT PRELIMINARY ROUNDS PLAYED The preliminary rounds of the various open and handicap events in the invitation Badminton tournament being conducted in Brydone Hall were disposed of last evening, a high standard of play being maintained in all departments of the fixture. A feature of the handicap events was the accuracy of the handicapping, which resulted in the great majority of cases in very close contests. The finals of the handicap and open events will be played off this evening, while an exhibition match will also bo given by the South Island Singles champion, P. Hawksworth, and 0. H. Chapman.
