RELIC OF ANCIENT DAYS
VILLAGE LIVES AGAIN Gilclersomo, of 200 a.d., is to live again —and on its hillside site! This is the Yorkshire village which clings to the hillside near Leeds, and on August bank holiday the days of 1734 years ago returned —the days when the Gelders settled on this then peaceful side of the hill as a refuge from religious persecution in the Low. Countries. Four Gildorsome schoolmasters wrote the “ book ” for a pageant of this period, and a Gildorsome mill manager produced the historical spectacle. The sum of £IOOO for Leeds Infirmary was the financial target being aimed at.
