MAROONED IN CAVE
HIMALAYAN CLIMBERS TERRIFIC BLIZZARDS ——-<— CALCUTTA, September 14. (Received Sept. 15, at 1 a.m.) Marooned for eight days in an icecave on a Himalayan peak, at an altitude of 20,000 feet during terrific blizzards was the experience of 14 members of the Karakoram international expedition, which included Germans, a Swiss, an Italian, Austrians and Americans. Frau Dyrhcnfurth, wife of Professor Dyrhenfurth, leader of the party, has returned to Srinag. She is a famous climber and reached a height of 24,700 feet, higher than any other woman climber. She states that the party was suffering terribly from the cold. She was unable to see for three days owing to snow blindness.
