MONEY MISAPPROPRIATED
SUBSCRIPTIONS TO RADIO CLUB COLLECTOR SENT TO PRISON. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 13. Representing that lie was _an accredited agent of a radio club, -Alfred Egbert Campbell called at a number of suburban house and. collected £l4. This morning Mr E. I). Mosley, S.M., sentenced Campbell to six months’ imprisonment with hard labour, on two charges, one of failing to account for £3, and the other of collecting £ll by fraudulent representation. •The police said the accused came from Wellington, and at first had permission to collect subscriptions for a club on commission. He had failed to account for the money, and then had receipt books printed and continued operating in tbe suburbs. He had a number of previous convictions.
