CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
The AA r est Coast (X T orth Island) team to compete in the New Zealand Crosscountry Championship at A\ 7 ingatui racecourse on Saturday arrived in Dunedin yesterday afternoon. The team comprises Messrs C. Weller (captain), F. Hill, C. Hill, N. Radford, J. Pike, A. Bourgeois. Weller, who was runner-up to Savidan in the last New' Zealand Cross-country Championship, is a young ‘runner with wonderful staying qualities and most determined finish. Pike is also expected to give a good account of himself. Last year AVest Coast annexed the Teams’ Race with 17 points, the best score since the shield has been presented. The AA 7ellington, Auckland, Canterbury, and Hawke's Bay-Poverty Bay teams will arrive tomorrow. According to latest advice, J. W. Savidan, the present champion and British champion (six miles), and threemile track champion and record-holder, will represent Auckland.
