INNINGS DEFEAT
LEVESON-GOWER’S ELEVEN FLEETWOOD-SMITH IN FORM (United Press Association.), (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, September 11. The Australians beat Leveson-Gower’s Eleven by an innings and 48 runs. The home side, following on, lost Wyatt when the total was IS. Sutcliffe was brighter than usual until bo was clean bowled by Fleetwood-Smitli with a beautiful ball. Ley la ml and Hendren, driving hard, raised 100 in 93 minutes. Then Ley land was run out as the result of a splendid return by Woodfiill, and with Hendren out and "the total four for 134 Human and Nichols were left with the responsibility of averting an innings defeat, but they failed to stay long. Sturdy bitting by Townsend prolonged the innings, but all were out after 223 minutes’ play.
