MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Dunedin Drainage and Sewerage Board wag held last evening, the Mayor (the Rev. E. T. Cox) in the chair. Others present were: Messrs H. G. Campbell. W. Begg, A. H. Allen. J. J. Marlow. W. A. Scott. W. H. Shepherd, J. L. MTndoe, M. Silverslone, and J. B. Shacklock. WORKS COMMITTEE.

The Works Committee reported as follows: —

Authority has been granted the drainage engineer to proceed with the following works;

The relayin'; of defective of the nine-inch sewer in Lees street. This sewer was laid in 1891 with clay joints, and a recent investigation indicates that the pipe line is undermined and leaking. The relaying of 30 feet of nine-inch pipes and 102 feet of six-inch pipes of the nine-inch foul sewer in the unformed section of Dundas street immediately above George street. This sewer, which is approximately 10 feet deep, was laid in 1880. and is now in a bad state, the pipe line being broken and undermined. The estimated cost of the work is £2ll. Construction of No. 1 mud tank at the intersection of Sturdee street and AVickliffe street, and the connection of same to stormwater sewer in AVickliffe street, at an estimated cost of £2O. The replacing of both the fon] and stormwater pipe lines of the drain-in-common in section 5, block 11, Corstorphine (Corstorphine road and Einbo streetl with four-inch spun iron_ pipes laid close to, but on the western side of, the existing pipe lines, at an estimated cost of £74. Extensive damage has been caused to both the existing pipe linos by movement in the ground.

The report of the Finance Committee, which, among other things, recommended the payment of accounts and pay sheets totalling £112,230 6s sd, was adopted.
