SPARK FROM A TRAIN

CHAMPAGNE STORE IN DANGER A spark from a passing train is believed to have caused a serious .fire which broke out at Folkestone Harbour recently, and for a time endangered the Customs bonded warehouses, which were filled with wines, spirits and other merchandise. Every available man on the harbour was pressed into service to fight the flames, which were fanned by a strong breeze from the sea. The fire brigade got the outbreak under control after fighting it from the roofs of adjoining buildings. Immediately below the fire were stored 20,000 cases of champagne, and in an adjoining warehouse was a largequantity of whisky. Crowds of holiday makers left the beach to watch the blaze. . ,
