LATEST MOVEMENTS The general index number of export prices increased from 1076 in June (on the base: average prices during 190913 equals 1000) to 1107 in July, a rise of 2.9 per cent., states the Abstract of Statistics. Increased prices for butter on the London markets are reflected in an increase of 12.5 per cent, in the index number for the dairy-products group, which still, however, remains lower than for any other group. The index number for the meat group again moved upwards, the July index (1610) being very high relative to those for other groups of farm products. Following recent trends in wool values overseas, the index number for the wool group fell from 1109 in June to 1032 in July, a decrease of 6.9 per cent. Wholesale prices remained relatively stable in June and July, the July index (1336, on the base: Average wholesale prices in 1909-13 equals 1000) being one point lower than the June figure. The index number for locally produced items included in the index rose by two points, while that for imported*items fell by six points.
