TRUST COMPANIES
THE ROYAL COMMISSION SCOPE TO BE EXTENDED SYDNEY, August 31. The Executive Council has decided to extend the scope of the Royal Commission which is inquiring into certain companies by the addition of the British Medical Investment Trust, Ltd,, and British Consolidated Investments, Ltd. THE VICTORIAN BILL MELBOURNE, August 31. (Received August 31, at 9.30 p.m.)
Mr I. Macfarlan (Chief Secretary) states that the operation of the Bill relating to the activities of certain companies will be limited to one year because the legislation is drastic and designed to meet an emergency. The Bill will come before the Legislative Council next week.
