SUNDAY CONCERTS

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir,I du believe in freedom's cause Ez fur away ez Payris is; I love to see her stick her claws In them Irifarnal Phayrlseea.

As'a means of raising a considerable sura for the Mayor's Unemployment Fund might I suggest that the nest meeting of the City Council be held in the Town Hall on a Sunday. The recital would not be a show likely ,to offend the pretentious prudes who are so well represented in the council. Anyway, 1 offer the suggestion, and I think Mr Silverstone will find that the Mayor will rule him to be in order if, he proposes a motion giving effect to it. In the event of such a motion being carried it would be necessary to have a few policemen at the recital to “chuck out” anyone who interrupted with concert items, especially those of a high cat-call tenor. It one or two would like to sing to the Lord with fearful voice they could be granted a special permit, and the town clerk could be entrusted to censor all the items. —I am, etc., Ratepayer.
