Miller more than' hold his own, having no trouble in winping his four matches. Norman Mollison was somewhat erratic and threw away many points by netting, especially in his game with Robin Johnston, where he had. a substantial lead-only to be beaten by a good finish by the St. . Patrick’s first string. Hughson played steadily and tempted Gourlay to hit out and make many errors. What was practically the deciding.game in the Education v. D.S.A. I match was that between Henderson and Dotting, which lasted 26 minutes, most of the rallies being exceptionally long. In fact, a record of several rallies showed that the ball was hit more than.oo times over the net and neither player could force the other into errors. Olsen, with, his break service, was the outstanding player for D.S.A., and apart from his match against Henderson, which he lost, he won the other thf-ee fairly easily. It was decided to hold a wind-up dance on September 12, when the presentation of trophies won during the season would take place.
