Rainbow, Air Harold Vanderbilt’s new candidate for the defence of America’s Gup, to-day defeated the leading aspirant for that honour, the Yankee, skippered by Mr Charles Francis Adams, by 3 minutes 7 seconds over a. 30-mile triangular. course. The result has somewhat complicated,the task of the committee empowered with the selection of the defender. It was the Yankee’s first defeat of the final-trials, and placed the Rainbow in the 'lead so far as the trials are concerneil. ; •
