SPRING FAIR
SOUTH DUNEDIN EFFORT The annual spring fair of the South Dunedin Presbyterian Church was held yesterday afternoon and evening in the, Reid Hall, with satisfactory results. The hall was decorated for the occasion, and at both sessions the stalls were well patronised, A centre of attraction was the exhibition of curios which was in charge of Miss E. Rosevear. The collection, which was a varied one, included interesting articles of Maori craft, as well as from the South Seas, Africa, Egypt and Jerusalem. The various organisations of the church' were in charge of the stalls, as follows:—Produce, Committee of Management (Mr Thor burn); work, P.W.M.U. (Mrs Dodds); cake, Progress Club (Mr Fielden); fancy, Busy Bees (Sister Alice; tea rooms, choir (Mrs Campbell ) ; work, young women’s senior Bible class (Miss Ross); sweets, young women’s junior Bible class (Miss Cairns); jumble, Progress Club (Miss Jones). In the evening an enjoyable entertainment was presented as follows;—-Songs, Progress Club; anthems, the choir (Miss Lear, soloist) ; song, Mr Wilson Tyne; play, “ Five Birds in a Cage,” Debating Club. The Old Boys’ Brigade Band was also in attendance, and rendered several numbers.
