At this juncture, however, it is felt, that your untiring: and -invaluable efforts on behalf of the club should be recognised in some tangible form, and accordingly we have .much pleasure in handing you a token of appreciation of your work, and of:-the esteem in which you have always been held by the trotting fraternity. With thisgo; the sincere thanks. ’of .the Gore Trotting Club for all you have done in various capacities, coupled with’.the wish that you may spend many- more happy ; days at: this club’s race meetings.” The letter was signed by the retiring president, Mr J.
